<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip collecting method and a chip collecting device which are capable of easily collecting chips accumulated on a flange surface of a branching pipe of a branching case in an uninterrupted water supply cutting process. <P>SOLUTION: A branching case 2 is inserted into an outer surface of a water pipe 1 to be mounted thereon and a flange surface 21 of a branching pipe 20 is turned up. Then, a cutting device is mounted on an upper portion of the branching case 2 to get down a cutter and after having cut, from an upper side of a peripheral wall of the water pipe 1, the peripheral wall of the water pipe 1 surrounded with the branching case 2, raise the cutter. Subsequently, the cutting device is detached from an upper portion of the branching case 2 and the chip collecting device 5 is mounted on the upper portion of the branching case 2 and further a cleaning jig 52 is lowered to thereby allow a sweeping member 53 to be opposed to a flange surface 21. Then, the cleaning jig 52 is handled to move the sweeping member 53 circumferentially along the flange surface 21, discharging chips through a through hole provided on the flange surface 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
