<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact terahertz wave generating device which generates terahertz waves with high output and high efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: A terahertz wave generating device includes an electromagnetic-wave gain medium generating terahertz waves by supplying energy for excitation in an electromagnetic wave resonator, amplifies the terahertz waves in the electromagnetic wave resonator and takes out them from the electromagnetic wave resonator. The electromagnetic-wave gain medium is arranged in a hollow fiber, and the inner diameter of the hollow filter is made one time or more and 10 times or less as large as the inner diameter showing a cutoff frequency of a propagation mode TE11 of the terahertz wave in the hollow fiber in which the electromagnetic-wave gain medium is arranged. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
