Provided are a method and device for acquiring WiFi access point information. The method for acquiring WiFi access point information comprises: a core network device receiving a message sent by a base station, the message comprising an identifier of a terminal and an identifier of a cell where the terminal is located; the core network device acquiring information about at least one WiFi access point in the cell according to the identifier of the cell; and the core network device sending the information about at least one WiFi access point to the terminal via the base station. This technical solution enables a terminal automatically to acquire information about WiFi access points of a cell where the terminal is located. The solution does not require a user to perform a complex operation in the terminal, thereby improving the user experience.
