<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve fuel consumption and drivability, in an internal combustion engine in which a fuel cut recovery rotation speed is changed by engine temperature. <P>SOLUTION: In this method of controlling an internal combustion engine including an automatic transmission having a lockup clutch mechanism controlled by hydraulic pressure, a higher fuel cut recovery rotation speed is set as the engine temperature decreases, a lockup release rotation speed is set higher than the fuel cut recovery rotation speed by a predetermined rotation speed, and the predetermined rotation speed is set to be lower as the engine temperature decreases. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
