<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for highly accurately calculating a multi-turn absolute rotation angle of a motor rotating shaft connected to a motor output shaft. <P>SOLUTION: In the rotation angle detection device using a calculation method according to the present invention, a rotation angle θ<SB POS="POST">n</SB>of the rotation angle of an n-th rotating shaft satisfies θ<SB POS="POST">n</SB>=(-(m±1)/m)<SP POS="POST">n-1</SP>×θ<SB POS="POST">1</SB>with respect to a rotation angle θ<SB POS="POST">1</SB>of the motor rotating shaft. In a gear mechanism satisfying the relationship, a multi-turn rotation angle of a first rotating shaft is developed to a detection value p<SB POS="POST">1</SB>for the first rotating shaft, which is the rotation angle of the first rotating shaft and R<SB POS="POST">0</SB>×m<SP POS="POST">0</SP>+R<SB POS="POST">1</SB>×m<SP POS="POST">1</SP>+...R<SB POS="POST">n-2</SB>×m<SP POS="POST">n-2</SP>which corresponds to the number of rotations of the first rotating shaft, coefficients R<SB POS="POST">0</SB>to R<SB POS="POST">n-2</SB>are determined on the basis of the detection value from an angle detector for each shaft, and the multi-turn rotation angle for the first rotating shaft is calculated. A detection error generated by the angle detector of the second and subsequent rotating shafts can be effectively suppressed, and high-precision multi-turn rotation angles can be calculated. A plurality of systems of gear mechanisms are juxtaposed and, on the basis of the detection values obtained from the gear mechanisms, a wider rotation angle detection range can be attained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
