OPTICAL TRANSCEIVER AND HOST CONNECTOR COVER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transceiver which can prevent occurrence of communication failure and can suppress leakage of electromagnetic noise, and to provide a host connector cover.

SOLUTION: The optical transceiver 10 comprises: a housing 11; and a card edge connector 23 projecting from the back face 22 of the housing 11. A region A1 which faces a gasket 39 when the card edge connector 23 is fitted to a host connector 37 while being inserted into a housing part 36 from the aperture 36f thereof is provided on the back face 22 of the housing 11. The region A1 has multiple recesses A11 arranged in the extension direction of the region A1. The width W11 of the recess A11 is equal to or shorter than 1/4 of the wavelength of electromagnetic noise being generated when an electric signal is transmitted or received between the card edge connector 23 and the host connector 37.
