<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved voltage-controlled oscillator. <P>SOLUTION: A voltage-controlled oscillator (16) includes a plurality of serially connected composite gain stages (42, 44, 46). The composite gain stage includes a transconductance stage (48) and a transimpedance stage (50). The transconductance stage has a first current path (52, 56, 64) and a second current path (54, 58, 66) from a first power supply voltage terminal to a second power supply voltage terminal. A first variable resistance (62) is connected between the first and second current paths. The transimpedance stage has a first inverter (68, 72) having an input terminal connected to the output of the first current path and an output terminal, and a second inverter (70, 74) having an input terminal connected to the output of the second current path and an output terminal. A second variable resistance (76) is connected between the input terminal and the output terminal of the first inverter, and a third variable resistance (78) is connected between the input terminal and the output terminal of the second inverter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
