<p>The present technique relates to an image-processing device and method that make it possible to remove block distortion in a more appropriate manner. When the difference between a quantization parameter (QPc) of a region of interest (C) and a quantization parameter (QPN) of an adjacent region (N) is assessed to be greater than a predetermined threshold value, a deblocking filter adjusts the deblocking filter process so that a strong filter is applied to the boundary between the region of interest and the adjacent region. This disclosure can be applied, e.g., to an image-processing device.</p> |
