<p>Disclosed is an external cavity tunable laser (300). The laser (300) includes a collimating lens (40) arranged outside the laser cavity; a laser output mirror (42), a laser gain media (44), a collimating lens (46), an active light phase modulator ( 48), and a tunable light filter (50) arranged in order inside the laser cavity. The laser (300) further includes an active polarization rotator (52) arranged behind the tunable light filter (50), a polarization beam splitter (54) arranged behind the active polarization rotator (52), a first etalon (60) and a first total reflection mirror (62) arranged in the direction perpendicular to the optical axis of the laser output mirror (42), a second etalon (56) and a second total reflection mirror (58) arranged in the optical axis direction of the laser output mirror (42), and a laser drive and control circuit. The laser (300) has the characteristics of high spectral density, narrow spectral bandwidth, and tunable laser output. The production of the tunable light filter and etalon are decreased. The laser (300) has the advantages of stable performance, low cost, compact size, easy installation and production.</p> |
