<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of the size of an obtained packet being too large when a filter is not used, and a problem of being unable to obtain a packet related to the own device when a filter is used. <P>SOLUTION: Based on association of a protocol with a multicast address, a multicast address corresponding to an effective protocol is added to a filter condition (S705, S707, and S709) and received data is determined whether it satisfies a filter condition or not.
