The present invention relates to a hardware basic tool-based architecture and method for monitoring the performance of a virtual system. The architecture comprises at lease one master host. Each master host comprises a user space component, a client space component, a kernel space component, and hardware. The user space component comprises sequentially connected a policy manager, a workload adjuster, a monitoring library, and host performance monitor. The host performance monitor is also connected to the workload adjuster, and the host performance monitor comprises a user space monitor and a kernel space monitor. The present invention applies a PMY (or similar tools) in monitoring the performance of the virtual system. Performance monitoring of the present invention is monitoring implemented on the CPU, memory, buffer, I/O, network, and process of each host in the virtual system. At the same time, the hardware-based method for monitoring performance of the present invention solves the problem of acquiring performance data for the virtual system.
|
