The method involves periodically retrieving pixel values of a screen of a mobile telephone (16), and computing parameters representative of the screen content from the pixel values. The screen is scanned according to a scanning mode e.g. scanning along vertical lines, for retrieving the pixel values. The computing step involves calculating a similarity ratio of an image displayed on the screen with respect to a reference image. The parameters are then transmitted towards a storing and analyzing unit.
