<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow appropriate selection of images to be used as images for stereoscopic display from within a file containing plural images in a stereoscopic image generation device. <P>SOLUTION: Plural images contained in a file are arranged according to individual image numbers. Then, a representative image is selected as a left-eye image, and an image positioned on the right side of the representative image is selected as a right-eye image.
