<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering a rare earth element from a processing object at least comprising the rare earth element and an iron group element, which can be put to practical use as a low-cost and simple recycling system. <P>SOLUTION: A processing object is heated at ≥600°C in an oxidizing atmosphere to convert metallic element(s) contained therein into oxide, thereafter, a hydrochloric acid solution is added thereto to adjust the pH of the solution to <2.0, further a heating state is formed, and further, the heating state at the pH of <2.0 is retained without adding alkali, thus a rare earth element is eluted into the solution, an iron group element eluted into the solution together with the rare earth element is precipitated, thereafter, the solution in which the rare earth element is dissolved is separated from the precipitates including the undissolved products of the processing object and the iron group element, and a precipitant is added to the solution in which a rare earth element is dissolved to precipitate and recover the rare earth element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
