The method involves arranging a tool holder (1) about an axis of rotation at a machining head. The workpiece clamped in a workpiece holder (2) is machined by a tool (10) in the tool holder. A gear grinding machine is provided with a dressing unit (7) having a wheel dresser retainer which is movable about a pivot axis. A relative movement between a wheel dresser (70) and the tool is produced by the superimposition of the movements of the pivot axis and linear movement axis for generation of the desired profile. An independent claim is included for a gear grinding machine. |
