PURPOSE: A medium sensor, a leveling method of the medium sensor, and a banking device using the same are provided to minutely regulate a light emission amount of a sensor sensing media. CONSTITUTION: A medium sensor comprises a light emitting unit(10) and a light receiving unit(20). The light emitting unit varies a light emission amount by regulating a current becoming applied. The light receiving unit receives the lights emitted by the light emitting unit, thereby generating an output. The light emitting unit is set in order to radiate the lights corresponding to a reference value. The lights corresponding to the reference value are penetrated the media desired to sense.
