Heat pump device and method for operating same

The heat pump apparatus (WP) comprises a compressor (V) with at least two speed settings, a controller for adjusting the speed settings of compressor, and a characteristic field unit for setting the respective power of heat pump apparatus at the two speed settings for various ambient temperatures and for different heat pump temperatures. The controller controls the rotational speed adjustment of compressor according to the selection of speed settings of compressor. The heat pump apparatus comprises a compressor with at least two speed settings, a controller for adjusting the speed settings of compressor, and a characteristic field unit for setting the respective power of heat pump apparatus at the two speed settings for various ambient temperatures and for different heat pump temperatures, and an assessment unit for estimating the heat demand of a to-be-heated building. The controller compares the estimated heat requirement value with current ambient temperature and current heat pump temperatures assigned for different speed settings, pump's performance, and pump's capacity for selecting the associated speed setting, which corresponds to the estimated heat demand. The controller controls the rotational speed adjustment of compressor according to the selection. An independent claim is included for method of controlling heat pump apparatus.
