A food product is produced by toasting pieces of bread, spreading the toast with a savoury mix or preparation containing raw meat, and then subjecting the spread pieces of toast to a grilling operation by heat radiated from above, so that the spread is cooked. The savoury mix may contain a coagulable albumen ingredient in addition to the raw meat. Apparatus for preparing the food product may consist of a casing equipped with one or more plate-shaped heating devices, e.g., an electric heater, above and beneath which carrying means, e.g., screens, for the slices of bread are interchangeably arranged, so as to enable the slices to be toasted from beneath or from both sides, and the spread grilled thereon with top heat. The Specification which became open to inspection under Sect. 91 is the same as that which became open to inspection in connection with Specification 482,588. The subject-matter set forth in that Specification, with the exception of that specifically abridged above, does not appear in the Specification as accepted. |
