The swing out vehicle door has a mounting rail containing a telescopic guide assembly. The panel is swung out by a set of parallel links. To relieve the telescopic assembly from the panel weight the panel is provided on its closing side edge with a guide element fitted to the track rail. Carrier lugs fitted to the panel engage the guide element only after a certain point of the translatory movement has been reached. In the extended position the telescopic rail assembly is suspended by a rigid guide arm fitted at the top of the frame. Due to this rigid suspension the panel runs lightly on the rail track.
