PURPOSE: A suture and a preparation method thereof are provided to effectively deliver drug without degradation of mechanical strength. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing a suture is as follows. A film including a biodegradable polymer layer is manufactured. A film including a biodegradable polymer layer with drug is manufactured by additionally forming a biodegradable polymer layer without drug on the top of biodegradable polymer layer with drug. The film including the biodegradable polymer layer with drug is wrapped around the surface of the suture. The wrapped film is adhered to the suture by applying heat or solvent to the suture.
