Particles for treating substrates comprising a core material and a shell material surrounding the core material, the shell material containing maleimide groups, preferably a copolymer of maleimide groups obtained by copolymerization of cyclic anhydride monomers and a vinyl-containing monomer with a subsequent imidization reaction and the core material is a not-water soluble material, such as an oil, an alkane, a terpene, a polyolefin or a wax. The particles are obtained by a process comprising by heating between 80 and 195°C, more preferably between 120C and 190°C an ammonium salt of a maleic anhydride containing polymer in the presence of the core material in aqueous medium and subsequent separation of particles from aqueous medium. |
