<p>A multilayer film 10 comprises a nylon skin layer 12, a buried high density polyethylene (HDPE) layer 16, and a sealant layer 18. The multilayer film 10 has a thickness of less than about 2.0 mils, exhibits a moisture vapour transmission rate of 0.3 g/1 00 in2 /day or less, and has a tear strength in the machine direction of at least 40 grams. The nylon skin layer 12 comprises a material selected from the group consisting of nylon 6, nylon 6,6, nylon 6,66, nylon 12, nylon MX-D6 and amorphous nylon. The sealant layer 18 allows the film 10 to be sealed to its own outer surface layer or to another multilayer film 10 structure.</p> |
