<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronous motor with a rotor having permanent magnets embedded therein, capable of preventing an eddy current from occurring at an end of the permanent magnet while maintaining structural reliability and stable torque. <P>SOLUTION: A synchronous motor 1 includes a stator 3 with a stator winding 9 and a rotor 5 which is rotatably disposed inside the stator 3 and which has permanent magnets 7 embedded in a rotor core 15. Sixteen (16) permanent magnets 7 are provided at the outer-peripheral edge of the rotor core 15, being spaced from each other in the peripheral direction. On an outer-peripheral side surface 7c at both ends 7a of each of the permanent magnets 7 in the peripheral direction, three layers of thin sheet-like high permeability members 17 with higher permeability than a magnetic steel sheet 15a constructing the rotor core 15 are provided to cover the surface 7c on the outer-peripheral side toward the stator 3 side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
