Provided are: a nonaqueous electrolyte solution which enables all of excellent initial capacity, excellent cycle characteristics and excellent storage stability of a charged state; and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery. An electrolyte solution for nonaqueous secondary batteries, which contains an anionically polymerizable monomer and a polymerization initiator precursor in an organic solvent, and wherein the polymerization initiator precursor is (A) a compound represented by general formula (1'), (B) a compound represented by general formula (2), or (C) a compound which is reduced on the negative electrode at a potential of 0-1.9 V (in terms of a potential relative to lithium); and a secondary battery which is provided with the electrolyte solution for nonaqueous secondary batteries, a positive electrode where ions of a metal in group I or group II of the periodic table can be intercalated/deintercalated, and a negative electrode where the ions can be intercalated/deintercalated or dissolved/deposited. |
