<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that efficiency and safety of bulb exchange work and illumination unit cleaning work in a conventional tunnel illumination are poor, and work expence and electricity charges cost high. <P>SOLUTION: Rail/wire fixing blocks are respectively installed on brackets arranged toward the upper center part of a tunnel wall from a side face of the tunnel wall. An illumination fixture carriage is mounted on the rail, and an existing illumination fixture or a new illumination fixture is loaded on the illumination fixture carriage. Up and down movements of the illumination fixtures depend on movements of the wire which is operated by winding up and rewinding of a hand winch set on a safety aisle.
