The photovoltaic device (10) has a photovoltaic cell (14) by which light energy is converted into electrical energy. A heating device (20) is provided to heat main unit in the region of photovoltaic cell. A measuring element is provided to detect change in temperature of lid element (18) by detecting change of electric resistor of coating portion (22). The coating portion is made of indium tin oxide.
