<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a concentration of a specific gas component such as CO or HC around a vehicle from being increased due to combustion of an engine in a vehicle stop state. <P>SOLUTION: A catalyst 18 as an exhaust emission control device is provided at an exhaust passage 17 of an engine 10. Further, in the catalyst 18, a heater 19 as an actuation means operated by receiving electric power supply and causing the catalyst 18 to be in a predetermined exhaust purification state allowing the purification of the exhaust flowing down in the exhaust passage 17. During engine combustion in a vehicle stop state, an ECU 40 detects a concentration of a specific gas component in the air outside a vehicle, stops the combustion of the engine 10 when the concentration becomes higher than a reference value, and performs transportation of air to the catalyst 18 from the outside of the vehicle while maintaining the catalyst 18 in the exhaust purification state and holding the engine 10 in the combustion stop state. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
