The device has a receiving region (11) including slot-like retainers (13) connected with a lower base region (10). Knife blades are inserted in the base region in such a manner that knives (12) are held in the retainers, and a magnet is arranged in an inner side of the retainers. The receiving region is formed as block-like body with geometric side outline, and the retainers are designed as cuboid hollow chamber in the block-like body and fully integrated into the side outline. The retainers comprise inner light width that is double that of one of the knife blades. The side surface of the block-like body is partly made of transparent material to be selected from glass or plastics.
