<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an igniter system capable of achieving high reliability by preventing accidental fire due to a failure of a coil and fusion or deterioration of a medium. <P>SOLUTION: A rise in collector current of an IGBT1 is detected with a dv/dt detection circuit 19 inside an ECU 200 to measure the duration of a rising period with a timer circuit 12. When the rise is different from a normal rise, it is determined that the coil is broken, so that the IGBT is turned off to prevent an accidental fire to interrupt a combustion gas flow sent to a combustion chamber 300, thereby preventing the fusion or deterioration of a catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
