The present invention relates to a battery pack having improved safety. The battery pack according to the present invention comprises: a battery module arrangement in which battery modules are arranged in two or more rows; a pair of side support members (a front support member and a rear support member) supporting the front and rear surfaces of the battery module arrangement, respectively; a lower support member supporting the lower end of the battery module arrangement; at least two first upper mount members to which the upper ends of the side support members are coupled and to which the lower ends of inverted battery modules are coupled; a second upper mount member coupled to the upper ends of the first upper mount members so as to perpendicularly cross the first upper mount members; and a rear mount member positioned on a rear surface of the battery module arrangement. A fragile part that is prone to volumetric expansion is partially provided on each side support member of the pair of side support members so as to induce the localized deformation of the battery module when swelling occurs so as to cause a short-circuit.
