The drive device (3) comprises an output shaft (16) which drives a wiper (4) rotatably by a drive motor (6) and sets the driven gear (15) into oscillating drive motion. The driven gear is received within a gear cage (22), such that both sides of the driven gear are enclosed. The gear cage is mounted in the gear housing (20). The gear cage is formed in U-shape and is firmly connected to an output pinion (21) which is connected to the output shaft and driven by the driven gear.
