The fall protection runner (1) has a stopper (2), which is designed for holding the fall protection runner in an occurrence of a downfall of a person (8) coupled to the fall protection runner. A brake unit (3) is provided independent of the stopper, which brakes the fall protection runner on exceeding a predetermined falling speed of the fall protection runner. A coupling point (5) is provided for direct or indirect coupling of a safety harness (6). The stopper is placed in a release position or in a stop position depending on the direction or amount of force acting on the coupling point. |
