<p>The method involves measuring the curvature of the stems or root pieces of a tree, before sorting the sections of trunk portion of a tree, according to the sections of trunk diameter of the tree, and transporting the sorted sections to sawmill. The tapering of the roots or root pieces is measured, while measuring the three-dimensional shape of the stems or stem pieces before sorting. The logs are cut into stem pieces after measuring and before transport to sawmill. The roots or trunk are provided with an electronically readable tag before transport to sawmill. An independent claim is included for measuring device for three-dimensional measurement of stem or root pieces of tree.</p> |
