PURPOSE: An aluminum alloy and a production method thereof are provided to reduce the production costs by adding inexpensive silicon oxide instead of silicon to an aluminum base. CONSTITUTION: An aluminum alloy production method comprises the steps of: melting an aluminum master alloy(S20), adding an additive including silicon oxide to the melt(S22), dissolving at least part of the silicon oxide in the melt(S24), and casting the melt(S26).
