<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a triarylphosphine or triarylarsine compound that can be a ligand of an α-olefin polymerization catalyst exhibiting high catalytic activity. <P>SOLUTION: The compound is represented by general formula (1) (wherein Y is phosphide or arsine; Z is -SO<SB POS="POST">3</SB>H or -CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>H; R<SP POS="POST">1</SP>-R<SP POS="POST">11</SP>, R<SP POS="POST">13</SP>and R<SP POS="POST">14</SP>are each independently a substituent selected from the group consisting of hydrogen atom, halogen atom, 1-20C hydrocarbon group, 1-20C hydrocarbon group substituted with halogen atom, 2-20C hydrocarbon group substituted with alkoxy group, 1-20C alkoxy group, 6-20C aryloxy group and silyl group substituted with 1-20C hydrocarbon group; and R<SP POS="POST">12</SP>is a 1-20C substituent bonded to an aromatic ring via any one of carbon atom, oxygen atom, nitrogen atom and silicon atom). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
