The surgical instrument such as spreader (10) has a pressure element for indirectly or direct determining the pressure acting on the blades (36,37). The pressure element is arranged proportional to a display element. A fluid-filled deformation portion (51) of the pressure element is connected with a hose (52). The arms (16,17) are connected with the blades.
