<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element capable of simultaneously satisfying high external quantum efficiency and high power efficiency, in an organic electroluminescent element in which a light emitting material is aligned in a direction horizontal to a substrate. <P>SOLUTION: There are provided: an organic electroluminescent element 10; and a light emitting device, a display device and a lighting system which include the organic electroluminescent element. The organic electroluminescent element 10 includes a positive electrode 3, a first intermediate organic layer 4, 5 comprising at least one organic layer, a light emitting layer 6, a second intermediate organic layer 7, 8 comprising at least one organic layer, and a negative electrode 9, in the order on a substrate 2. In the organic electroluminescent element 10, light is extracted from a side of the positive electrode 3, the light emitting layer 6 contains a light emitting material aligned in a direction horizontal to the substrate 2, the order parameter of the light emitting material in the light emitting layer 6 is equal to or greater than 0.7, and the film thickness T1 (nm) of the first intermediate organic layer 4, 5 and the film thickness T2 (nm) of the second intermediate organic layer 7, 8 satisfy relationships: 1.1<T1/T2<4.0 and 20 nm<T2<80 nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
