<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a splice unit capable of housing one or both of an optical cable and an optical fiber in a wound state by one surplus length tray. <P>SOLUTION: A splice unit includes a surplus length tray 20 for housing an optical cable 901 in which a plurality of optical fibers are bounded or an optical fiber 902 in a state in which a surplus length is wounded, and is housed in a rack. On a bottom face of the surplus length tray 20, a first guide 22 to which the optical cable 901 is wounded and a second guide 23 which guides the wound optical fiber from the outside and is lower than the first guide 22 are provided upright. The first guide 22 is constituted of a plurality of arc shaped pieces or cylinders, and in the first guide 22, a cable holding piece 22a is formed toward the outside.
