<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate device which prevents a vulnerable pedestrian from accidental contact or falling by accurately detecting the vulnerable pedestrian when the same passes in a state of being mixed with normal users and executing a traffic control appropriate for the vulnerable pedestrian. <P>SOLUTION: A gate device comprises: an entrance/exit information reading devices (52 and 53); entrance/exit control means 51 which controls reading operation of the entrance/exit information reading device; a pressure distribution sensor 61 which detects a move trace of a pedestrian as pressure distribution data; a pressure distribution data management section 70 which generates accumulated pressure distribution data in an identification object region in accordance with the pressure distribution data; and a vulnerable pedestrian detection section 80 which determines whether or not the pedestrian is a vulnerable pedestrian on the basis of the accumulated pressure distribution data in the identification object region and provides the entrance/exit control means with a vulnerable pedestrian detection signal when determining that the pedestrian is the vulnerable pedestrian. The entrance/exit control means is configured to stop the reading operation of the entrance/exit reading device for a predetermined period of time when receiving the vulnerable pedestrian detection signal from the vulnerable pedestrian detection means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
