The method involves utilizing a Petri network with a set of transitions that is assigned to a processing step of software components and designed as a wait-gate and open-gate. A set of directed transitions is activated by providing a starting signal, where the directed transitions represent dependencies of the step. An assigning of the transitions to the step is carried out while the directed transitions are activated on the transitions, where the directed transitions are selectively activated, and run out from the transitions while assigned processing step is practiced. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a distributed computer system (2) a data carrier comprising a executable program code with a set of instructions for performing a method for establishing software components on a distributed computer system.
