An elastic disc G has multiple regions cut from it. The disc holds its position in and seals with the neck of a container H by its own elasticity, and air can flow into the container through at least one of the regions E while the liquid contents of the container can flow out through at least one other region F. Ideally the cutouts are diametrically opposed notched or channels in the discs circumference thought they need merely be apertures through the disc (fig 7). Preferably one of the channels is a segment of the disc, delimited by a chord of the disc. The container may be a jerrycan. An alternative device is a moulded disc held in place in the containers neck by rigid, plastic or compliant peripheral ridges, vanes or legs. It may be tapered to assist insertion. |
