A ship 10 is disclosed that incorporates a solid recovered fuel energy generation system 3. A main propulsion system 6 and 7 of the ship may be connected to the solid recovered fuel energy generation system and is configured to use energy generated by the solid recovered fuel energy generation system to propel the ship. Solid recovered fuel can be formulated to have extremely low sulphur content. Therefore the resultant emission footprint of the ship is advantageous in terms of lower sulphur emissions, when compared to the current baseline. Also disclosed is a method of propelling the ship, a method of refueling the ship and a land based ship fuelling station.
