摘要 #CMT# #/CMT# The carrier (10) has two carrier elements (20, 30) made of aluminum or aluminum alloy, magnesium or magnesium alloy and plastic such that a connection/compound socket (40) is connected with an actuated connection region (42). The region is actuated with the elements and bonded to a firmly bonded connection region (44) through a welded joint (50). The carrier elements are assigned to different regions of a vehicle, and meet different requests of mechanical stability. The connection/compound socket comprises two portions that are made from different materials. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a carrier for a vehicle. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Carrier i.e. cross beam, for an instrument panel of a vehicle. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The intrusion of the connection/compound socket in interior of the carrier element and the corresponding press-fit are carried out simultaneously by frictional connection such that total weight of an instrument panel cross member with steel components is reduced without any additional costs for connection of two different materials in the carrier elements.
