<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing control device of an internal combustion engine, capable of preventing the swinging amount of a cam phase from being gradually increased, while matching a detection value of the cam phase with a target phase, by an effect of torque generated by a phase advancing mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: The control device includes: determining that a hydraulic oil temperature is not less than an upper limit oil temperature, the hydraulic oil temperature in an advanced angle chamber and a retarded angle chamber which are provided in the interior of the valve timing control device; determining that a rotational speed of a crankshaft is not more than a lower limit rotational speed; and executing target phase change processing for changing a target phase and setting it to an intermediate phase, when the target phase at the point is present in a prohibition phase region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
