<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing dissolved aluminum from water to be processed containing bicarbonate ions (HCO<SB POS="POST">3</SB>-) with a high removal rate, by which the decrease of the removal rate and the pH at the initial stage of passing water are suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: Water to be processed is caused to pass through an ion exchange resin layer comprising a mixed bed of a salt-type strongly acidic cation exchange resin of an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal, and Cl (chlorine)-type strongly basic anion exchange resin.
