<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long-life mold lubricant capable of having the service life of a coating film several times as long as a conventional one while keeping the characteristics required as the mold lubricant. <P>SOLUTION: The mold lubricant includes a binder containing sodium silicate and silicon carbide, or a binder containing sodium silicate, silicon carbide and colloidal silica. The method of manufacturing the mold lubricant includes as a process for manufacturing the binder, at least a process for producing a liquid in which the silicon carbide is dispersed in the sodium silicate solution by adding the silicon carbide into the sodium silicate solution little-by-little while stirring the sodium silicate solution, and a process for continuously stirring the produced liquid until the end of the phenomenon in which the gas generated by reaction between the sodium silicate and the silicon carbide is floated up onto the surface of the liquid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
