<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for coral growth that ensures that coral larvae implanted on a grid-like structure can be raised without being eaten or dead. <P>SOLUTION: The structure 1 for coral growth includes a grid-like structure having the form of a net on a planar view, in which rectangular, open squares 3 are formed horizontally and vertically by combining muntins and cross rails within a rectangular frame 2, both the muntins and the cross rails having the same width as the frame 2. The structure 1 is installed at the bottom of the sea using poles 5 mounted at the four corners of the structure 1, in such a way that the structure is away from the bottom of the sea. The structure resists harmful organisms such as Acanthaster, Echinoidea, shellfish from attaching to it, thereby avoiding these harmful organisms from eating corals or scraping corals off from the grid-like structure, while also avoiding such problems as corals being killed as the structure is covered with sand, seaweed, colonial ascidians, bryozoans, etc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
