Provided are: an electrode for lithium ion secondary batteries, which is suppressed in decomposition of the electrolyte solution by maintaining a coating film on the surface of an active material layer for a long period of time, thereby having improved cycle characteristics; a method for producing the electrode for lithium ion secondary batteries; and a lithium ion secondary battery which uses the electrode for lithium ion secondary batteries. This electrode for lithium ion secondary batteries is characterized by comprising a collector, an active material layer that is formed on the surface of the collector and contains a binder, and a coating film that is formed on at least a part of the surface of the active material layer and contains a modified polydimethyl siloxane. This electrode for lithium ion secondary batteries is also characterized in that the coating film is chemically bonded to the binder.
