<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a septic tank drainage clarifying material accommodated in a corrosion-resistant net of a gabion shape, the material being a ceramic granule obtained by drying, kneading and firing a metal oxide or complex kinds of metal oxides, which clarifies septic tank drainage by coming into contact with septic tank aqueous solution including calcium hypochlorite or a chlorinated isocyanuric acid salt to utilize its catalytic reaction and which can contribute to clarify waste water to quality close to that of the natural water while having an advantage of being simple and having low economical load. <P>SOLUTION: The metal oxide or complex kinds of metal oxides including ferric oxide and titanium oxide is dried, kneaded, fired to obtain the clarifying material as the ceramic granule. The clarifying material is brought into contact with calcium hypochlorite or the chlorinated isocyanuric acid salt and septic tank drainage aqueous solution to clarify the waste water by its catalytic reaction.
