<p>The problem addressed by the present invention is to effectively take advantage of the NOX adsorption ability of a three-way catalyst in a system for controlling a multi-fuel internal combustion engine provided with: a plurality of cylinder blocks; an auxiliary exhaust duct connected to each cylinder block; a primary exhaust duct formed by merging the plurality of auxiliary exhaust ducts; and a three-way catalyst disposed in the primary exhaust duct. In order to solve the problem, the amount of oxygen supplied to the three-way catalyst was increased by means of driving some of the cylinder blocks by means of gaseous fuel and causing a fuel cut to the remaining cylinder blocks when the three-way catalyst is in a state able to adsorb NOX in the exhaust.</p> |
